At 5:35am this morning, Sophia Petrillo left us. Estelle Getty came to be someone the world loved for her humor and wickedness as the Golden Girls' favorite Italian. She started acting back in 1978 (i was a year old!) and retired from acting a few years ago when dementia took over her life. As someone who is a big fan of the Golden Girls, I know she will be truly missed. Very few characters come to be as beloved as Sophia and I'm sure very few will be in the future...
