This story is about what could possibly be the dumbest criminal ever. No, I am not talking about Paula Abdul's stylist. In Charleston, WV, a man walked into a convenience store and told the clerk he had a gun and demanded all the money in the register. Straight forward hold-up, eh? Not quite. When a customer walked into the store, he got flustered. The clerk told him he had to pay for his drink and he did - with his debit card. He left without taking any money.

The clerk called the police and they traced the debit card back to 33 year-old Shawn Thomas Lester, who told police he was "just kidding" about the gun and wanting the store's money. Rule number one in robbing a store - don't use your debit card, moron.
