I was reading the paper today and I came across an article about President Obama call for humanitarian aid to Darfur. Yes, what is happening in Darfur and it other war-torn countries around the world is deplorable. But how can we keep borrowing money to keep our economy going just to spend money on people in other countries? Unemployment is increasing, foreclosures are on the rise and people are having trouble just feeding and clothing their families. But yes, let's keep taking care of other countries' problems. I apologize if this offends anyone, but it makes me angry that we can keep sending our nation's money to other countries when we need that money spent here in the U.S.
