Edeyo is an independent not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the future of children in Haiti by rebuilding dilapidated schools, supplying students with learning materials, and providing them with nutritional support. It is their belief that by educating Haitian youth, they can help stop the "gang mentality" of their youth today.
Recently, world-reknown photographer Nigel Barker decided to use his voice to help raise awareness and money for this organization to help improve conditions in Haiti. He has filmed a documentary and took photographs to help raise awareness of this small island nation, which seems to be forgotten in favor of places like Darfur. He recently put together a charity even that unveiled his project and helped raise over $20,000 for Edeyo - that is enough to build a school cafeteria and cover teachers' salaries for an entire year!
