Apparently, a 61-year old ex-inmate in Washington State contracted a flesh eating virus while behind bars and was misdiagnosed with an 'allergic reaction to medication' by a prison doctor. It seems what he really had was a necrotizing faciitis and it destroyed his penis and one of his testicles. I cannot imagine how horrible that must have felt. Hopefully the $300,000 settlement he received will make things better.
