I thought the whole purpose of PETA was to educate and to try to get people to treat animals better. Well, that's how they started off at least. Now it seems more like a bunch of nuts protesting anything they can just for the sake of protesting. Many times, their message isn't delivered in the brightest ways.In 2003, PETA released an ad campaign that likened animal slaughterhouses to the Holocaust concentration camps. The slogan of the campaign is, "Holocaust on your plate." I don't about y'all, but that's going way too far.
Germany's highest court agrees. The Federal Constitutional Court in Karlsruhe on Thursday ruled that the ad campaign was not protected under freedom of speech laws.
PETA claimed that its goal was to compare contemporary animal abuse with the Nazi-run concentration camps. The campaign drew outrage from the Central Council of Jews in Germany as well as many other Jewish organizations.
I would love to know why anyone would think to use one of the biggest tragedies in modern times in an international ad campaign. Morons.
Apparently, impeached Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich apparently loves the spotlight a little too much to give it up. I read on USA Today's website that he is supposedly going to be writing a book now that he has been kicked out on his ass. What in the world could this guy write a book about? How NOT to govern? Somehow I think it will be a pop-up book or as my friend Donna said, he will be using crayons to write it. I would love to know who would buy a book written by him in the first place.
I've often wondered what the judges have in the Coke glasses in front of them. I've figured out that Simon Cowell must have prune juice in his. Randy and Kara, well I don't really care about them. But Paula, she must have some good liquor in her glass. That is the only logical explanation for her genius wit and intelligence. How many times an episode does she stop mid-sentence and you just wonder if she even knows where she is? Doesn't anyone else wonder why she is checking out the contestants' legs instead of listening to them sing? Sometimes I wonder what song she is listening to - clearly it's not what the rest of us are hearing.
I think she must do her interviews drunk too. She makes statements and then the next day makes sure everyone who will listen to her knows "that isn't what [she] meant!" Her latest remarks that she retracted were once again criticizing the existence of a 4Th judge on Idol. This is the second time she has made bonehead remarks and then tried to take them back. Hey Paula - your contract ends at the end of this season. You might want to keep your mouth shut if you want to keep your useless spot on the panel.

I know I have mentioned the "crazy baby lady" a few times and lately I haven't been as enthusiastic to read more about her. It just gets nuttier every day. She started out saying she'd never accept charity. Then we find out not only has she received charity but she has also received welfare. Of course, she doesn't think food stamps is welfare - but guess what, they are! Also, she has had a website created to beg for donations of money and supplies. A bit hypocritical, don't you think? She has even been offered free care - including therapists, medical care, daycare - which also comes with a new home to live in, yet she has not accepted the help.
In fact, in the recent television interview that included her mother, she says, "maybe I need to give up needing to be in control and accept the help." This is the same woman who swore that she did the IVF treatments because she could afford the children. I don't think she really thought more about the costs of more children than just "oooh! a baby in diapers!" I don't even think she realizes that without her parents' help and the help of public assistance, she couldn't even afford the six children she already has.
What really makes me mad is I don't think she really understands what she is doing her six children psychologically or what harm will be done in the future to all 14 of her children. Ironically, she has been trying to earn a masters degree in counseling and has worked as a licensed psych technician. That scares me that she has been involved with the care of people considering she clearly seems to not have a grip on reality. I grew up in a home where I came out of it psychologically damaged (I know I have not explained why yet, but at a future time I will). I know firsthand the kind of damage that can happen because of the actions of parents. The type of parenting, or lack there of, has a clear effect on the kids. Sometimes, these effects may not even be seen until later in adulthood.
I really cry for these babies. I pray that something will happen that will ensure these kids have a better future than the one at the end of the road they are currently on.

I hope this photo disgusts y'all as much as it disgusts me. This bigot is from Westboro "Baptist" Church. I put quotations around Baptist because they are not like any Baptist church I know of - and I am a Baptist myself. For those that have never heard of this group, it is a group of hate-mongers led by homosexual propagandist Fred Phelps. Mostly this group protests anything homosexual (as well as much more) - from movies to productions to clinics. If it can be linked to homosexuality, in any way, this group will protest it.
Most recently, they have been banned from entering the United Kingdom where they were to protest a theatrical production of the Laramie Project and protested at the Oscars because they allow movies like Milk to win awards. The most disgusting recent bit of activity is that they actually tried to protest at funerals for people who died in the recent plane crash in Buffalo, NY. They had the audacity to say "planes crash, God laughs." I can't imagine where they would get a notion like that. I have read the Bible, it's not in there.
Back to the photo. When I saw it, I first noticed the shirt the woman is wearing. "God Hates Fags Scum." I would love for them to point to any place in the Bible where it says that God hates gays. Funny thing - it doesn't. Heck, God doesn't even hate prostitutes or idolaters or criminals. He hates the sin. And I have news for Westboro - you're sinners just like the rest of us. How does it feel to hate yourself?

Previously I have mentioned what a tool "Coach" from Survivor is. Come on, his name is Benjamin Wade yet he commanded people associated with Survivor to refer to him as "Coach". That was enough for me to consider him this season's tool - then his mouth opened. That just solidified his position as Tribe Tool. Apparently, he is looking to become a Professional Tool.
According to the people at Reality TV World, he has managed to be fired from his coaching position at Southwest Baptist University. Okay, first I am surprised that a Baptist college would hire this guy in the first place. Look at him on the show with his "Asian" clothing and him spouting his garbage about being a "Renaissance Man" or Oriental sensei or whatever he calls himself. This leads me to believe that either he was lying to the school when he was hired or he is putting on an act for the show. According to Wade, he was fired because "the administration felt like Survivor was me going to Hollywood." According to the school he was fired because he ditched his job two weeks before the soccer season ended and never told the school he was going on the TV show. He told them he would be out for a week and ended up being out for two months (can we say he must have made it into the Jury at least then?).
"This has opened up a whole new world to me," Wade said. "I loved being myself on camera. There's going to be a lot of interest from the show in who I was and what I did. I'm definitely excited about that." Can we say clueless? Apparently he said this BEFORE watching his dumbass self on television. He is trying to be some modern day Mr. Miyagi or something and somehow I doubt that is going to get him an agent or any acting gigs. He claims his future goals are to be on a future All-Stars edition of Survivor or to host his own show called The Coach Wade Show. Um, somehow I don't think any network is going to give the fired coach of a small-time women's soccer team his own show. Something tells me he is a few tools short of a toolbox. He is going to be real disappointed when no one calls him for an acting gig!

Didn't we get enough of MC Hammer in the early 1990's? Well apparently it is time to bring this has-been back into the limelight. Heck, they rejuvinated Bret Michaels' career - why not Hammer? A&E has order 11 episodes of Hammertime, a reality TV series that will show Hammer - a "new age dad" according to the network - attempt to juggle his "career" as a performer, speaker, homemaker, website developer and head of his own music label.
"Each week we'll open our home to viewers to showcase the hectic pace of our lives and our eclectic family, our real life truly is drama and there is no better place than A&E for some Hammertime," said Hammer, who is also serving as one of the show's executive producers.
"Hammertime truly captures the intimate, funny and genuine moments that resonate with our viewers and underscore the essence of our brand," said Robert Sharenow, A&E's senior vice president of nonfiction and alternative programming.
Hmmm. Why do they think we need to watch irrelevant former celebrities try to regain their youth? Somehow I don't think I will be watching this one. Drinking acid sounds like more fun.

The story just keeps getting nuttier and nuttier. As I mentioned previously, I think the woman in California who recently had octuplets is clearly a nutcase. If you did not see the excerpt from Monday's upcoming Today Show, you missed seeing a train wreck in progress! I couldn't believe just how far this woman is from living in reality. The woman has now been identified as 33 year-old Nadya Suleman. After hearing even more information about this woman, I am convinced she is truly mentally incompetent. What is really scary is that she is a licensed psychiatric technician - it is clear she herself should be under psychiatric care!
I would love to know why any doctor would have done more fertility treatments on her. The same doctor that did her treatments this last time also was the doctor who helped her conceive her first six children. Initially he tried to convince her to only use 1 or 2 embryos. She said no, that she want to use six. According to her, she used all six because "those are my children, and that's what was available and I used them." Apparently, the doctor felt the woman knew more than he did. If he had been a responsible doctor, he would never have impregnated her this time or the previous 5 times. Why didn't the doctor consider that fact that he was impregnating an unemployed, single woman who was on and off disability?
That raises another question - how could this woman be on disability AND be pregnant? She initially began receiving worker's compensation in 1999 when involved in an accident at work. Over the past decade, she has received more than $200,000 in disability payments. I, for one, would love to know not only how she could be pregnant and physically disabled but also how she was able to afford the fertility treatments. As we know, her parents were also taking care of her family and her bills but I doubt that even such gullible parents would foot the bill for extra children she could not afford.
When asked by Ann Curry on the Today Show about how she planned to afford these extra 8 children, she responded by saying, "I know I'll be able to afford them when I'm done with my schooling. If I were just sitting down, watching TV and not being as determined as I am to succeed and provide a better future for my children, I believe that would be considered to a certainly degree selfish." What I would like to know is, how will she pay for them NOW. This is a woman who clearly has no grip on reality!
"I'm providing myself to my children," Nadya Suleman told NBC in her first interview. "I'm loving them unconditionally, accepting them unconditionally, everything I do. I'll stop my life for them and be present with them and hold them and be with them. And how many parents do that? I'm sure there are many that do, but many don't. And that's unfortunate. And that is selfish." Seems to me that this woman is the perfect definition of what selfishness is! She is only having these children because she was an only child and therefore she suffered and was "dysfunctional". Funny, I didn't realize that being an only child made you dysfunctional. She clearly thinks that spending time with them and holding them is all you need to care for children properly. I hate to burst her bubble but singing lullabies and hugging them isn't going to pay for the diapers, formula or baby furniture.
The most disturbing thing, in my opinion, is that when asked why she did this, she replied, "All I wanted was children. I wanted to be a mom. That's all I ever wanted in my life." Well I have some news for her - you already ARE a mom! You already had six children under the age of 7 at home who clearly are not being provided for adequately. Now you want to add 8 more children? Not only is that irresponsible but also immoral.
I think what most people are thinking is true - this is a crazy woman who is going to use these children to earn as much money as she can. She claims she won't take welfare or outside financial help but I would love to hear her explanation for asking Oprah Winfrey for $2 million to appear on her show. I want to know when the Department of Child Protective Services is going to step in and take these children away from this horrible woman. She clearly cannot provide for these children. I am glad the fertility doctor is now being probed and he should lose his license.
If you want to see more from the interview with Ann Curry, they will air the entire thing on the Today Show on Monday morning and also on Dateline Tuesday night at 10pm EST/9pm CST.

OK, I am all for fertility treatments to help those conceive children when they normally would not be able to. But getting fertility treatments when you are the single mom of 6 kids under the age of 8 already is going too far. I'm sure most of us have heard about the woman in California who recently gave birth to 8 children. Since the miraculous birth, all kinds of new facts are coming out about this woman.
At first, no one knew about her having 6 children already. When that came out, people were shocked. On top of that, it seems her parents are living with her because they lost their own home since they were taking care of her daughter and her children financially. All those kids, plus the parents and the woman are living in a 2 bedroom home. TWO bedrooms? Where is child protection services when you need them?
Then she decided to get fertility treatments. When they found out she was pregnant with 7 babies, the doctors tried to talk her into aborting some of the embryos in order to ensure a better prognosis for the babies. She refused. What I want to know is why the doctors agreed to perform these fertility treatments on this woman. Something tells me these doctors care more about the money than about the future of the babies they help create. It is good to know that these doctors are now facing extreme scrutiny. Doctors like that should not be allowed to practice medicine. Medicine is not about money - or at least it shouldn't be.
The story just gets plain maddening. Apparently this woman has been thought of as "baby-obsessed". Duh! I think it is clear something is clearly wrong with this woman. What I would like to know is how did this woman afford the fertility treatments? She is a single mom of 6 kids who, as far as I have read, did not have a job. Her parents were paying for everything. Her mom was on the Today Show this morning and declared her outrage at her daughter for doing this. But that still begs the question, where did the money come from?
Here is the kicker. According to Perez Hilton, this woman wants $2 million dollars to do interviews on television. She supposedly plans to be on Oprah and the Today Show. Somehow I doubt Oprah would pay this crazy woman that much money to come on her show. Is it just me, or is anyone else thinking this woman did this just to get some sort of fame? Thanks to TLC, large families have gained notoriety in recent years. Shows like John & Kate Plus 8 and The Duggars have glorified fertility treatments and never ending families (The Duggars have 19 children). Is it such a stretch of the imagination that someone would emulate these shows? After all, look at the copycat stunts of Beavis & Butthead and Jackass.
The saddest factor is what has happened to this woman's parents. The financial strain of caring for their daughter and 6 grand children not only took their home, but also their marriage. They still live together but are divorced. When the babies are to come home, the grandmother is moving out and wants nothing to do with the situation. I don't blame her. The father is coming out of retirement and heading to Iraq to be an interpreter for the military so that he can pay for all these new babies. Seems to me it isn't his responsibility to do that. However, it is their fault they never made their daughter grow up and take responsibility for her own actions and pay her own bills.
The ones I feel for most are all the children involved. I hope for their sakes that Child Services gets involved to make sure these kids are being cared for. Seems to me it won't be long before this woman tries to get pregnant again. Sometimes people just amaze me at how irresponsible they can be.

As I've mentioned before, I love my reality television. I watch for two reasons - pure enjoyment and to watch morons make asses of themselves. The latter was the reason I watched the premiere of MTV's newest show, Bromance. If you haven't heard about this one, it "stars" fame-whore Brody (son of Olympian Bruce Jenner) who first starred on the "reality" show The Hills. It is basically the male equivalent of Paris Hilton's search for a new BFF.
All I can say about this show is MTV must think our young people are dumb. Ryan Seacrest should be ashamed that his TV production company is producing this garbage. For starters, like Real World, they have a confessional room. They use a bathroom and call it the "can-fessional". Secondly, they will have "group dates" and "one-on-one dates" with Brody. Some of the clips about the season even show butch guys "crying". Is this a search for friends or a boyfriend? Finally the creepiest thing about this show is that the elimination takes place in a large hot tub. How homosexual is that? Not saying that's a bad thing but come on. This is a search for a new entourage member - not a bathhouse! Oh and the winner? Brody will move them out to Los Angeles and give them a house to live in. Is this desperation or him looking for a "boy toy"?
MTV has picked up six episodes of this series - I hope MTV doesn't let it go that long!

The one thing I hate more than anything about gay men is when one acts so effeminate that they might as well just have a vagina. I'm not saying that they need to be like John Wayne or something but come on, you don't need to feed into the stereotype. It just makes us look bad. I'm sorry if that offends anyone, and I am not trying to force a heterosexual agenda on anyone, but there is a point where I believe "too much" is just too much.
If you haven't been watching Lifetime at night you may not have heard of the new reality competition show, Blush. It is a search for the "best" make-up artist in the USA. Like all reality competition shows, I am sure the true best in the country are not on this show - they are too good for a catty show hosted by a D-list celebrity. While there is one straight male contestant, the rest of the men on the show might as well be women - one of them had twice as much makeup on than the females did!
If you haven't seen the new Macy's commercial you're not really missing much. Same parade of rich celebrities hocking their overpriced stuff. (Although it has Clinton Kelly who - although not my type - is really very yummy) One thing that cracks me up is Jessica Simpson. Am I the only one who has noticed that now that she is hocking a country album, her accent has gotten distinctly more southern? Now, I know she is from Texas but she's never really sounded like it. Also, when I was working for Gap she actually came into our store (yes we had lock the store down for her to shop the freakin' sale rack) and she did speak to me since I was the one to ring her up. Trust me, her normal speaking voice is NOT that southern. The things people do to sell their "brand". Here's the commercial below - see if you see what I'm talking about.
Why is it that "celebrities" get special treatment when they break the law? They break the law and a "lowlife" breaks the law but they don't get the same punishment. Somehow I don't think that is right. Look at infamous train wrecks Paris Hilton, Chloe Kardashian and Nicole Ritchie. They spent less than a few hours in jail - some just minutes - while average people would have been in there for months for the same thing. Heck, Hilton was released for being claustrophobic! Well, I would think anyone in a 4x4 cell would be claustrophobic. Why bring this up? Nick Bollea - aka Hulk Hogan's son - was released early.
So what did little Hogan do? After a chronic problem of driving recklessly, he caused an accident in which his friend, John Graziano, was severely injured. In fact, the accident left him with a hole in his skull. The following is a video of Graziano in the hospital. I will warn you - the footage is quite disturbing.

Being someone who has become physically handicapped in my twenties, I can empathize with the Graziano family. The accident left their 22-year-old son in such a state that he will need assistance for the rest his life - one that he will spend in nursing homes. And is Nick Hogan remorseful? I think he put on a good act for the courts and for the cameras. In a conversation between he and his dad, he said "heavy shit”on him because of things that he was “into.” Nick agrees, saying John was a “negative person.” That is not something someone who truly regrets what he did - more like he thinks Graziano got what he deserved.
Hogan was sentenced to 8 months in jail - and he spent a lot of time whining like a child. Now, just 166 days into his sentence, he has been released. That is ludicrous. The original sentence was too light on what he did - and he isn't even sorry about what he did. Still not convinced he isn't remorseful? He wants to do a new reality show about a 'celebrity getting back on his feet after doing hard time in jail'. I seriously doubt that he did "hard time". Have his parents warped his values so much that he doesn't see that his priorities are a little skewed? Listen to the conversation here.

I'm sorry but it is time that these so-called "celebrities" start getting what they deserve - not what they expect to be entitled to. Maybe if parents would start teaching their children what kind of people should be role models these morons wouldn't have the notoriety that they do.
I love reality shows. That is no secret. VH-1 joined the reality show craze by making some decent shows. When those didn't boost ratings, they turned to Flavor Flav. Then there was I love NY and Rock of Love. These shows are the extreme bottom of the barrel! Those shows are a who's-who of criminal records, drugs, STDs and God only knows what else. They spun off another show called I Love Money where losers on the "love" shows competed for $250,000. Should we really be rewarding people for being trash and willing to put their trash on television? Well THAT show has now spun off yet another ghetto version of The Bachelor - Real Chance of Love.
I'm not someone who reads celebrity blogs and tabloids because I idolize these overpaid monkeys. I just think the stuff they do is hilarious. Sometimes though, I just wonder what they were thinking. Usually I laugh pretty hard at the things the "teen queens" do to get themselves publicity but one thing is really creeping me out. Miley Cyrus. She is 15 going on 35. It amazes me that her parents let her do this stuff. Heck, her dad has resurrected his failing career by using his daughter to make money.
Don't know her latest stunt? She is dating a 20-year-old underwear model who competed on Nashville Star this past season - which was hosted by her achy-breaky father. I guess you can take the moron out of backwoods Kentucky but you can't take the backwoods kentucky out of the moron. I'm sorry - what parent thinks that this is in the best interest of their child? She has barely hit puberty! First semi-naked photos in magazines and now this - seems only a matter of time before she starts hitting drugs and doing porn or stripping for a living.
I'm a self-professed Realty TV junkie. However, even I know when they've gone too far. I like Survivor, Amazing Race, Intervention, you name it. When the "reality" show is too dumb, like The Hills, I know not to watch it - I like having all my brain cells. I had heard of a show MTV was doing called "Queen Bees" - basically a show where girls in their late teens are complete bitches and self-centered disasters. They put the girls into a house and teach them lessons on how to better themselves and how to put others needs ahead of their own. Wait. Isn't that what their PARENTS should have been teaching them to do for 18 years or so?
As the show goes on, they earn gold stars for showing progress. Ok, I thought we stopped getting gold stars for good behavior in like the 3rd grade. Watching them get the stars was like watching a starving dog eat a bowl of food. Why this reaction? Well, that's the kicker. The girl who "progresses" the most will win $25,000. I'm sorry. The girls on this show need REAL therapy. You can tell by watching the show that most of the girls are only interested in the money. If they wanted to give a cash prize for acting like a real human being - pick a charity. Don't reward some nasty diva princess with money for doing something everyone should - being a respectable human being. Seems to me that having money thrown at them is what got them in the program in the first place! Some role models MTV is giving teens these days.

Well, karma has finally gotten OJ Simpson. The vast majority of interested parties are still convinced to this day that OJ got away with murder 13 years ago and those same people will be glad to hear that Simpson has been found guilty on 13 counts of kidnapping and robbery. Honestly I think that since he seemed to get away with murder he thought he was invincible. Well, his stupidity has finally caught up with him. OJ faces life in prison! Hope you like prison OJ.
