Mardi Gras 2010

This was when Saints' coach Sean Payton jumped off the float with the Lombardi Trophy and let people in the crowd touch the trophy.

Baby Elephant Works For Food

How cute is this?
The baby elephant is balancing on the ledge to get food from the baby!
That is just so neat.

PokeyVision

I know y'all can't get enough photos of my dogs. Even if you have, I'll keep posting them anyways. Ha!

After getting attention, eating, sleeping and hunting, this is Pokey's next favorite thing to do. We call this "PokeyVision". Given the chance, he will lay there in the window for hours just watching stuff outside - or watching nothing at all.

Sometime I'll take a video of him getting all excited by something outside. It's really a sight to watch. He starts shaking like there is an earthquake and he can't wait to get outside. And of course, there is never anything out there.

Poor guy.

He lives such a tough life.

Can you believe this is Dakota playng???

Lost In Translation ...

Nothing like a fancy sausage stuffed between two buns ...

We had these in America too ... they were called Rest Stops.

I think this speaks for itself.

The "Question Mark"

This is Pokey's favorite position we think ... We call it the "question mark" because he lites on his back with his legs and tail in the air. Then he flops his head to the side in a way that creates something resembling a question mark. How in the world is that comfortable? Would be nice if that were the biggest worry in my day too!

What Was He Thinking?

The following photos are of LA Galaxy's Abel Xavier who is from Mozambique. Someone needs to take his peroxide away. Heck, he makes Scary Spice look like a Stepford Wife.

Wedding Decor?

Last night Darin took his parents to a wedding in Raceland, LA which is about an hour from us. It's one of those weddings you know isn't going to be that extravagant but you do expect something appropriate. Here is one of the things the caterers put out in the room:

What the hell were they thinking??

That is NOT a Breakfast Bar!

I came across this photo in a Google image search. I sincerely hope that was fake poop that baby is trying to eat.

Playtime with the Kiddies

Now doesn't that look like fun? Heart-shaped poop!

Flashback

Who is that cute kid? It's me! One of my old high school classmates found our 6th grade class photo and posted it over on Facebook. God we were so tiny back then! It's scary how much I still look like that now...

Rachael Ray Exposed

Recently, photos that Rachael Ray posed for in 2003 for FHM have become a hot topic. She has become one of the most popular celebrities in America with 15 best selling cookbooks, 2 Food Network shows, a popular daytime talk show and numerous product lines. She has said that she would do it again in a heartbeat. Do you think she made the right decision to pose for these kinds of photos and do you think they could hurt her popularity now?

"Noah's Gay Wedding Cruise"

I found this over on the Towleroad website. I think this is a hilarious piece of art. Those featured as passengers on the ark are Ellen Degeneres & Portia DeRossi, Rosie O'Donnell & wife Kelli, Bert & Ernie, Brokeback Mountain's Jack & Ennis and Elton John & David Furnish. I was surprised that the artist left out Harvey Milk! Meanwhile, anti-gay propagandists and sinners are among those drowning in the sea. You'll notice Fred Phelps and his Westboro Church signs in there as well as Larry Craig, Pat Boone's guitar (he was a supporter of Prop 8), Ann Coulter and others. The painting, by artist Paul Richmond, was created for a gallery show called “Sweet & Low: Optimism in a Pessimistic Age” at Gallery Arcane in San Francisco.

Playtime With Pokey and Dakota

It's amazing to see how much Dakota has changed since coming to Louisiana. Before we got here, she NEVER wanted to play. She pretty much just ate, slept and got attention from us. Now, she not only wants to play with Pokey (who is always ready to play) but she even initiates playtime! The funniest thing is that once in a while, she would try to roll onto her back. She reminded of a turtle trying to roll without ending up on their back. Now, she drops onto the ground outside and rolls completely over. You have to understand, Dakota is very wide and has stubby legs. It isn't an easy maneuver for her at all. It's been awesome to see her so playful and really come out of her shell here. I can't wait to see how she handles being up in the North!

This third photo is the funniest of all the ones I got this day when they were playing. Is it just me or does Dakota look completely vicious?? I assure you she isn't! In this photo she reminds me of a lioness hunting its prey!

Trip Photos

This was the 3rd snowfall of the trip. 8 inches on top of the 14" we already had. I don't miss that!

This is Darin's nephew Russell. I'm not sure what he was thinking here.

This is my cousin Kelly's daughter Kayley. I think this was the only time she was awake all day!

This is Darin's nephew Willum. I think he was ready to eat.

This is my cousin Erin and her baby Hailey. We think she wants to be the Flying Nun when she grows up!

Winter Hits the Coast

Well we finally have witnessed winter down here in the South! We have had some chilly weather - and even gotten in the 30's a couple times but nothing seems to stick. Today at noon I took the dogs out and I could see my breath! When I checked the weather, it said it was 37 with a wind chill of 29 here in Biloxi! We didn't even get the brunt of the winter weather here ... Here is what Baton Rouge had today:

Trust me, I saw a lot of this growing up in New York - but I had only seen snow once in the 10 years I have been down here in the South. I kind of wish we got snow here in Biloxi but I know we're in for more than out share once we move.
