Found this for y'all courtesy of my friend Brett's friend's blog... Enjoy! For the record, this song is from the Broadway hit show - Avenue Q. The show is HILARIOUS!
Well yet again I make plans to do something for myself and again something happens to screw it up! Mother nature just had to send her little hurricane minions after us again. So, no trip to New Orleans this weekend - just three years ago when Katrina smacked us down here. To make the trouble worse, here comes a 2nd storm (Hanna) coming this way through Florida. So in the next week, just like 3 yrs ago (katrina/rita) we could get hit with 2 hurricanes.

Thank you Mother Nature...

I've always tried to not be angry towards people. It's just one of those things I'd like to completely avoid. Unfortunately a lot has happened in my life that could make me an angry person in my adulthood. I think I've done a good job not being an angry person but sometimes it just gets difficult to hold the anger back.
The one person I never thought I could ever be angry at is God. I didn't have a relationship with him until high school and to be honest, it wasn't really until college that I truly felt that relationship. I know I shouldn't be angry about things that happened years ago but because of therapy, I've had to re-hash a lot of wounds that I thought were healed or ones I just put away and never dealt with. While I thought that therapy would help I think the only thing I've come away with is a new anger towards God. I can't imagine why God would allow the things that have happened to me as a child to happen (you'll learn more about this at some point). Even the things happening to me now I don't fully understand. I know they say what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. Well, I have news for whomever said that - that's a load of bull.
The worst part is that I feel guilty being mad at God. It's not right for me to be like this and I hate myself for it. How come it's so easy for God to forgive us but it's so hard for us to forgive Him?

It's always sad when adults do the wrong thing. In youth sports, adults are supposed to be teaching kids about sportsmanship and fair play. It's sad when its the adults who need to be taught about sportsmanship.
Apparently, in New Haven, CT, there is a kid in an 8-10yo league who is "too good" to pitch against other teams. The kid, who is only 9, was even banned from pitching by the league administration! Well, the team ignored the ban and when he took the mound, the other team left and forfeited. How is that teaching our kids good sportsmanship? Also, as a result the league has said they will disband the team and redistribute the players.
Now the question is, is this really about him being too good? The answer may be no. Apparently, the kid was asked to join the defending championship team and he and his parents declined the offer. Now, his team is 8-0 and headed to the playoffs. Also, the defending champions are sponsored by the employer of one of the league administrators. Seems to be shenanigans going on here! And yes, there is a possible lawsuit against the league being discussed.

I'm a big fan of the Olympics....2 weeks of sports - yes! As we all know, we got to watch lots of records and great accomplishments. Not everything at the Olympics was good though. I'm not talking about the ceremonies - don't get me started on those. I am a big believer in good sportsmanship... The first big disappointment was when a wrestler threw down his bronze medal in anger about not making the finals. At least, I think that's why! Ha!
The one thing that really irked me was the behavior of a tae-kwon-do athlete from Cuba. Now we say Usain Bolt from Jamaica act badly after winning but I think it is safe to say that it was youth that made hime not realize his actions were in poor fashion. That can't be the excuse for the Cuban athlete - this was his THIRD Olympics. On top of that, he won a medal in Sydney in 2000! He should know better. Here is the very lasting image of the athlete in question :

I hope that others are as disturbed by this as I am. The person getting kicked is the REFEREE! Yes, you heard it right! Why would he do this? Because the referee disqualified him! It was well withing the rules and the competitor knew it. Then his coach accused the ref of taking a bribe from the competition to fix the match. Now both athlete and coach are facing life bans from the sport and the olympics. It is so sad that people could be such poor sports.
Hmmm he is in Cuba. Would they kill him for embarrassing the country? HA!

I don't know about anyone else but our dogs want attention constantly... Here is why you shouldn't neglect your dogs so you can be online....

I'm just saying...

Now let me start by saying I've not really been a fan of The Bachelor. I started watching it last season when the shmuck turned down DeAnna Pappas. I really felt a lot of empathy for her. That is why I decided to watch the Bachelorette when they decided that she would be the choice. Over the season of the show, I kind of lost any empathy I had toward her but there was one "bachelor" on the show who I really liked. Those of you who watched the show I'm sure remember Jason, the single father of a 3 year-old boy. I think it was impossible for people watching to not fall in love with this guy. Just like DeAnna, in the end he was turned down. Here is a picture of the man...
Here's the best part... ABC just announced today that he will be the next Bachelor! For once, the "bachelor" won't be some rich, arrogant guy who is chosen for a show just for ratings. In fact, only one of the previous "relationships" lasted more than 6 months! It's great that they've chosen a guy who is clearly looking to find love. I know I'll be watching!

What's the answer? It's Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh!

The US Beach Volleyball duo just won their second-straight Gold medal in the Olympics. Not only is that unheard of - but they have won 108 straight matches! How insane is that? That's not all! This was their 100th career tournament victory together and their record together is 742-50. Now THAT is a herculean feat!

As y'all probably remember, I mentioned that I had I had back surgery in April. The next three months were bearable since the medications were actually masking a lot of the pain that was still left. Well, as with many good things, this did not last. A few weeks ago I began having shooting pains in my left leg and the tingling has returned to my left leg and foot. As we've now exhausted all possible options, all I can do now is take the pain medication and continue the dieting and what little exercise I can do.
